With just a few clicks, you can follow the news, purchase goods and services, and communicate with people all over the world. It is important to BAFA to help our customers protect their privacy while enjoying the benefits the Internet offers.

To protect your privacy, BAFA follows various principles consistent with global practices for protecting customer privacy and personal information.

We use modern security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may ask you to provide personally identifiable information (“personal information”) or information that allows us to contact you. This information is typically requested when you create a user ID to register on www.bafa.sn, download free software, participate in a contest, subscribe to an electronic newsletter, or access restricted areas of the site.

We use your personal information for four main purposes:

  • To make www.bafa.sn easier to use by eliminating the need to enter the same information multiple times.
  • To help you find services and information more easily.
  • To help us create content that is more relevant to you.
  • To inform you about product updates, special offers, updated information, and new services from BAFA.

CONSENT

If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you may still use www.bafa.sn, but you will not have access to areas that require registration.

If you choose to register, you will be able to select the types of information you wish to receive from us, such as electronic newsletters. If you do not wish to receive communications from BAFA by email, mail, or phone regarding products, programs, events, or services, you may opt out of receiving BAFA marketing communications.

BAFA may occasionally allow other companies to send information about their products and services to our registered users. If you do not wish to receive such offers, you may opt out of receiving third-party marketing communications.

ACCESS

We provide means to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may review and update your information at any time through the visitor center. There, you may:

  • View and edit the personal information you have provided.
  • Indicate whether you wish to receive marketing information from BAFA or third parties.
  • Subscribe to electronic newsletters about our products and services.
  • Register once so that you do not need to re-enter your information again.

Wherever you go on www.bafa.sn, your information follows you.

SECURITY

BAFA has implemented significant measures to ensure the security of your personal information and to respect your preferences regarding its use. We take appropriate steps to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

We ensure the highest possible level of security for your e-commerce transactions. When you place an order or access your personal account information, you use a secure server with SSL software, which encrypts your personal information before it is transmitted over the Internet. SSL is one of the most secure encryption technologies available.

BAFA strictly protects the security of your personal information and respects your choices regarding its use. Your personal information will never be shared with other companies without your consent, except as outlined above.

Within our company, data is stored on password-protected servers with restricted access. Your information may be stored or processed in Senegal or in any other country where BAFA, its subsidiaries, affiliates, or agents operate.

You also play an important role in protecting your information. No one can access or modify your personal information without knowing your username and password—do not share them with anyone.

LOCATION DATA

The BAFA Delivery app accesses your device's location (GPS and network-based) to provide core delivery services. Specifically, we use location data to:

  • Enable delivery drivers to share their real-time position so customers can track their orders.
  • Calculate accurate delivery routes and estimated arrival times.
  • Confirm delivery addresses and ensure packages are delivered to the correct location.
  • Improve service coverage and operational efficiency in your area.

Location data is collected only while the app is in use (foreground) or, for delivery drivers, while actively on a delivery shift (background). We do not collect location data when the app is closed or not in use by a non-driver user.

Your location data is transmitted securely and is accessible only to authorized BAFA staff and the parties directly involved in your delivery (e.g., your assigned driver). It is never sold to third parties.

You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings; however, doing so may limit the functionality of the app, including the ability to track deliveries.

NOTICE TO PARENTS

Dear parents and guardians, we want to help you protect your children’s privacy. We encourage you to educate your children about the safe and responsible use of their personal information while using the Internet.

ENFORCEMENT

If you believe for any reason that BAFA has not adhered to these principles, please notify us at bafa@bafa.sn. We will make every effort to investigate and resolve the issue promptly. Please include “Privacy Protection” as the subject line.

ELECTRONIC PRODUCT REGISTRATION

When you purchase and install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. During registration, we add this information to the data you have already provided. If you are not previously registered, we create a personal profile using the information you provide at the time of purchase.

If at any time you wish to review or update your information, you may visit the profile center and click “Update My Profile.” If you have not yet created a user ID, you must do so in order to access your information.

CUSTOMER PROFILES

As mentioned above, each registered customer has a unique profile identified by a personal identification number, ensuring that only you can access your profile.

When you register, we create your profile and assign you a unique identification number, which is stored on your device as a cookie. This serves as your passport to navigate www.bafa.sn easily, allowing you to download free software, subscribe to newsletters, and access restricted areas without repeatedly entering information you have already provided.

Even if you change computers, you will not need to register again—simply log in using your user ID.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

When you register, you provide contact information such as your name and email address. We use this information to send updates about your orders, customer satisfaction surveys, and announcements about new or special services.

When you place an order, we request your payment card number and billing address. This information is used solely to bill you for the products ordered. We may retain billing information for future orders, but it will not be used again without your authorization.

From time to time, we may engage other companies to perform limited services on our behalf, such as packaging, shipping, delivering orders, responding to customer inquiries, mailing communications, and managing event registrations. These companies receive only the information necessary to perform their services and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

BAFA may disclose your information without prior notice if required by law or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights or property of BAFA, its websites, or to act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of BAFA users, its websites, or the public.
